Job Description

Seeking a Project Controls Engineer to manage cost estimates for engineering projects at DSM. This role involves early-phase project cost estimating for R&D, Chemical & Industrial Plants, and Animal & Human Nutrition facilities compliant with cGMP. Responsibilities include creating Project Controls Plans, forecasting costs and schedules, and supporting global cost estimating databases. The engineer will document Basis of Estimates, develop Work Breakdown Structures, estimate total installed factors, validate consolidated estimates, and conduct Project Risk Assessments. Additionally, they will monitor cost and schedule performance, develop escalation and inflation models, integrate project schedules, and perform time impact and critical path analyses. Reporting standards will be maintained using Power BI and PIMS 365.

Qualifications

1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 2. Six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Project Controls Engineer or related position. 3. Experience servicing multi-million dollar capital projects from feasibility through commissioning. 4. Expertise in project management and capital projects delivery processes, including Total Cost Management (TCM) and Earned Value Management (EVM). 5. Experience developing overall estimate schedules and estimating scope of work. 6. At least three years of experience using SAP, Ecosys, PIMS, and Procore for capital project management, cost control, planning, and reporting.
