Principal Specialist, Cloud Engineer – Server and Storage Management/SIOP
Job Description
As a Principal Specialist Cloud Engineer, you will: - Deliver services for infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and general IT support for the Enterprise Services SIOP application suite. - Participate in support, planning, defining best practices, and collaborative meetings. - Handle the provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure in cloud (Azure & AWS) environments. - Collaborate within a small team on cloud projects and system support. - Deliver practical solutions to complex problems. - Design and support new and existing cloud applications infrastructure. - Oversee cloud operations and design infrastructure for new workloads. - Continuously improve and mature cloud services. - Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environment. - Create and maintain system documentation, including best practices, procedures, and policies. - Work effectively in a geographically distributed team environment.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess: 1. A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Azure and AWS environments. 2. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of schooling in lieu of a degree. 3. 5+ years of experience in deploying and managing cloud-based solutions on Azure and/or AWS. 4. Expertise in administering both Windows and Linux server operating systems. 5. A robust understanding of computers, networks, servers, storage, and databases. 6. Experience in server architecture and troubleshooting methodologies. 7. The capability to develop solutions and document various technical issues. 8. Proficiency with technologies such as Active Directory, WSUS, VMware. 9. Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform/HCL). 10. Knowledge of Agile methodologies. 11. Microsoft Azure certification(s).
