Principal Scientist, PK/PD

Job Description

Independently plan and conduct in vivo PK/PD, PK, and TK studies across various veterinary species, including crafting study protocols and detailed reports. Provide valuable PK and PK/PD modeling and simulation insights to assist in pinpointing promising lead candidates and refining optimal dose regimens. Team up with the bioanalytical team to evaluate the suitability of analytical assays and anticipate analytical needs for upcoming projects. Spearhead the creation of scientific strategies spanning multiple therapeutic areas, with a focus on mechanistic platforms and biomarkers, facilitating seamless translation, precise target engagement measurement, and accurate dose regimen predictions. Engage in effective collaboration and communication within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring studies align perfectly with the project's strategic direction and objectives. Present research outcomes to scientific teams, management stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, conveying key insights and findings. Author sections of regulatory submissions, respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, and stay up-to-date on regulatory guidance.

Qualifications

1. Ph.D in pharmacology, biochemistry, or related field with 4 or more years of relevant pharmaceutical development experience. 2. DVM DACVCP or DVM Dipl. ECVPT is highly desirable. 3. Proven ability to design, analyze and interpret in vivo PK and PK/PD studies. 4. Experience with biotherapeutics (protein therapeutics) is highly desirable. 5. Skilled in the use of PK and PK/PD analysis software such as WinNonlin, Monolix or Watson. 6. Working knowledge of bioanalytical methodology. 7. Knowledge of ADA assays and assessment of immunogenicity of biotherapeutics is highly desirable. 8. Experience in PK/PD modeling and simulation such as PBPK, QSP or population PK modeling using NONMEM, R, or related software is highly desirable. 9. Experience interacting with regulatory agencies is highly desirable. 10. Experience conducting GLP studies is desirable. 11. Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills. 12. Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
