Principal Product Manager – AI

Job Description

Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for AECOM's enterprise AI platform, ensuring its evolution as a scalable capability across the organization. Manage the complete lifecycle of AI product features, from initial concept and experimentation to launch, adoption, and continuous enhancement. Formulate detailed product requirements and collaborate with engineering teams to create AI-driven functionalities and platform resources. Engage hands-on with LLM-powered systems, including retrieval augmented generation (RAG), prompt/system design, model assessment, and AI feature testing. Implement MVP and iterative product development methods to rapidly assess, validate, and scale AI capabilities that provide significant business value. Discover opportunities to extend AI capabilities into internal workflows, enterprise knowledge systems, and business operations. Design AI capabilities for reuse, scalability, and sustained platform value, preventing redundancy across teams. Ensure alignment across AI projects to maintain portfolio-level oversight, investment management, and roadmap coherence. Partner with AI engineering and operations teams to guarantee platform reliability, performance monitoring, and operational readiness. Define key performance indicators and track adoption, usage, and business impact of AI features across the platform. Collect user feedback and usage data to continually refine platform features and the user experience.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of product management expertise, or the equivalent in experience and/or education. 2. At least 3 years of product management experience focused on AI-driven or generative AI products. 3. Proven track record of building and improving product management practices across various products or teams, not just managing individual products. 4. Comprehensive understanding of the AI product lifecycle: from defining capabilities and assessing feasibility to evaluation, release, and adoption. 5. Technical proficiency in LLM-powered products: RAG architectures, prompt/system design, model evaluation, and AI observability. 6. Demonstrated ability to manage portfolio-level visibility, investment discipline, and roadmap coherence across multiple AI products and teams. 7. Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder influence skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite and board-level executives.
