Principal Material Program Manager
Job Description
The Principal Material Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the supply chain strategy at Collins Aerospace. This involves: 1. Managing supplier performance using metrics, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. 2. Creating and implementing risk and opportunity mitigation plans that align with program objectives. 3. Leading supply chain proposal activities, including estimates, pricing strategies, and aligning prices to win. 4. Serving as the main contact for internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and strong partnerships. 5. Managing material execution from supplier delivery through testing and final shipment. 6. Leading supplier negotiations, including handling claims and requests for adjustments. 7. Conducting supplier assessments and developing the supplier base to meet program needs. 8. Developing logistics strategies, capacity plans, and material priorities for the program. 9. Resolving material, shipment, and data issues with program leadership and customers. 10. Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost estimates, EACs, and overall program execution. 11. Providing input to program reviews, including financials, lead times, and material pricing. 12. Supporting gate reviews and ensuring compliance with development and program requirements. 13. Coordinating supply chain inputs for budgeting, proposals, and business development. 14. Refining lead times, critical path planning, and bill of material development and analysis. 15. Developing supply chain labor estimates and aligning efforts to achieve price-to-win objectives.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Principal Material Program Manager position, candidates should meet the following criteria: 1. Possess a University Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience. 2. Demonstrate experience in supply chain functions, including procurement, material planning, production control, logistics, cost estimating, or finance. 3. Have experience managing suppliers or subcontracts. 4. Be capable of translating customer requirements into supplier deliverables and statements of work. 5. Exhibit experience supporting or leading make-or-buy decisions.
