Principal Communications Specialist

Job Description

Spearhead the creation and integration of communication strategies, encompassing both internal and external initiatives, throughout the region. Act as the main communications partner for international leadership teams in Western Europe, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand. Craft and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies that are aligned with business goals, Medtronic's mission, and the objectives of Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST). Oversee all aspects of planning and execution for regional communication programs. Collaborate with various teams including Integrated Communications, Global Marketing, operational units, and local communicators to foster a unified "One CST" approach. Enhance and safeguard the company's image through effective media relations, thought leadership, support for product launches, management of crisis communications, and initiatives for market development. Guide internal communication and employee engagement strategies to ensure employees are well-connected with business priorities and organizational changes. Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and utilize insights to continuously improve strategies, enhance message retention, and maximize regional impact.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or integrated communications (or 5+ years with an advanced degree). 3. Demonstrated ability in developing and executing integrated communication strategies across various channels and audiences. 4. Proficiency in English. 5. Experience working in global or multi-market settings, with a sensitivity to cultural and regional differences. 6. Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders. 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
