Principal, Analytics and Data Science – Pricing Forecasting
Job Description
Lead the data science and analytics strategy for underwriting transformation software products, from initial problem definition to successful production deployment. Design and implement causal, predictive, and scenario-based analytical capabilities that support underwriting, pricing, and risk management decisions. Work in close collaboration with Product Management and Engineering teams to integrate analytics and reporting into core product workflows. Define, track, and report on product, operational, and business metrics and OKRs that align with organizational and underwriting transformation goals. Create scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide clear insights into product performance, financial impact, and delivery outcomes. Deliver high-level insights tailored for executive audiences, clearly articulating progress, risks, and tradeoffs. Provide technical leadership in causal inference and counterfactual analysis to evaluate underwriting and pricing changes. Foster continuous, cross-functional communication across Product, Engineering, Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, and Executive teams.
Qualifications
1. 5+ years of experience in analytical leadership and expertise for forecasting and financial software products. 2. Deep expertise in causal inference, including causal modeling frameworks and bias-adjustment techniques. 3. Experience building counterfactual and 'what-if' scenario analysis systems at scale. 4. Strong background in time-series forecasting and predictive modeling using modern statistical and machine learning approaches. 5. Proven ability to design and operationalize end-to-end analytics or ML pipelines. 6. 5+ years of strong Python skills and working knowledge of SQL and distributed data platforms (e.g., Spark). 7. 5+ years of demonstrated success translating ambiguous business and product questions into measurable analytical solutions. 8. 5+ years of experience partnering with product, engineering, and business leaders to influence strategy and outcomes. 9. Track record of delivering analytics and reporting capabilities adopted by business and executive stakeholders. 10. Strong executive communication and storytelling skills. 11. 5+ years of experience mentoring and leading senior data science and analytics professionals. 12. People management experience is a plus.
