Platform Software Engineer
Job Description
SES Corporation is seeking a skilled Platform Software Engineer to manage LAN infrastructures, including access points and wireless LAN controllers, integrating them into Software Defined Access (SDA) infrastructures. Responsibilities include overseeing switch provisioning and implementation across multiple sites, coordinating cutover logistics, and change management. The engineer will establish network monitoring for new and replaced equipment, support Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites, and maintain network equipment and configurations. They will utilize network orchestration tools for automated and consistent configurations, manage routing interface statistics, and provide consulting services for data processing systems. Additionally, the role involves making technical decisions on data collection methods, providing technical guidance to projects, developing analytical techniques, provisioning switches and routers, assisting with vulnerability patching, preparing reports, and analyzing complex problems. The engineer will also escalate issues to vendors, update network documentation, maintain effective relationships, and create knowledge base articles.
Qualifications
1. Must have Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain. 2. Must have ITILv4 Foundation Certification within 120 days of start date. 3. Previous experience with vulnerability patching and IOS upgrades is required. 4. Previous experience supporting and operating Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites is required. 5. Must Possess and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. 6. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. 7. Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. 8. Perform systems management and integration functions. 9. Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision. 10. Must Possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients in both oral and written forms. 11. Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and be available for meetings. 12. Must Possess and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. 13. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
