Patient Financial Services Representative 4 – Insurance Follow Up, Government Payers

Job Description

The Patient Financial Services Representative is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of claims. They will resolve complex issues, provide support to team members, and handle high-dollar accounts. They must document activity and maintain knowledge of payer requirements. This role may also involve additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Education: Associate Degree or three years of relevant experience. 2. Experience: 3 years in revenue cycle, finance, customer service, or data analytics. 3. Expertise in Insurance Follow-Up is highly preferred. 4. Experience processing claims for Government payers is highly preferred. 5. Proficiency in hospital billing systems (e.g., Epic) and insurance verification portals. 6. Insurance & Compliance Knowledge: Extensive understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay policies. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and hospital financial assistance programs. 7. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze patient accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve billing or insurance issues effectively.
