Job Description

Seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to accurately assign codes for facility outpatient, same-day surgery, and observation records. Enhance your coding expertise in a dynamic remote setting, contributing to precise medical billing and data management.

Qualifications

1. Must possess AHIMA or AAPC certification. 2. A minimum of five years of outpatient coding experience in an acute care setting is required. 3. Proven experience in accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to a variety of facility outpatient records. 4. Experience coding general facility surgery records, including complex procedures like heart valves, TVRS, spinal, ortho joint replacements, gastric bypass, transplants, etc. 5. Experience coding injections and infusions in the observation setting. 6. Must have technical competency with remote-based connectivity, including virtual private networks, multi-factor authentication via smartphone, and video conferencing platforms. 7. Proficiency with office software, including Outlook email for communication, calendar for meeting attendance, and Excel spreadsheets for data management, is essential. 8. A committed regular schedule is required with expectations for reliable and punctual attendance. 9. Must meet client productivity targets while maintaining a coding quality of 95% or greater.
