Job Description

Join our team as a Coding Specialist and provide essential coding services to support our clients. Your responsibilities will include: - Multispecialty clinic E/M leveling, determining appropriate evaluation and management levels for accurate billing. - Identifying critical care cases based on patient acuity, ensuring proper coding and reimbursement. - Applying ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity, capturing the most accurate patient conditions. - Accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS coding systems. - Interpreting coding guidelines to ensure precise and compliant code assignments. - Understanding the importance of documentation in code assignment and its impact on reimbursement. - Adhering to AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, supporting the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program. - Complying with all internal policies and procedures. - Actively participating in Company-provided training and education to stay updated on coding changes and best practices. - Ensuring individual compliance with all privacy and security rules and regulations to protect patient information.

Qualifications

To be considered for this Coding Specialist role, you should meet the following criteria: 1. Certification through either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) is mandatory. 2. A minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience is required. 3. Working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR and billing software are essential. 4. You must have a phone, reliable internet connection, and current coding materials, including CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references. 5. Maintain an ongoing productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher to ensure coding quality. 6. Achieve a quality score of 95% or higher in coding audits. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel and Outlook, is expected. 8. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. 9. Possess the ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines to manage coding tasks efficiently.
