Medical Coding Specialist II – Multi-Specialty

Job Description

We're seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to accurately determine coding for various healthcare specialties. This role involves utilizing encoder and grouper software to identify appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes, including specialty-specific and Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes. You will also need to maintain a comprehensive understanding of National Correct Coding Initiatives (NCCI), Local Coverage Documents and National Coverage Documents (LCD/NCD) directives, Medically Unlikely Edits (MUEs), and Medicare Teaching Physician Guidelines.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education or a Certified Coding Certification. 2. Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field Preferred. 3. 1 year of progressive coding experience (For HCC-specific roles, experience must be specific to HCC). 4. 2 years progressive coding experience in multiple specialties, HCC Risk adjustment Coding Preferred. 5. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Upon Hire or other coding certifications.
