Medical Central Scheduling Call Center Representative
Job Description
Answer incoming calls promptly and with courtesy, offering scheduling support to patients. Schedule, reschedule, and handle cancellations across various departments and specializations using EHR and scheduling systems. Confirm insurance coverage and get required authorizations or referrals. Verify appointments and give patients pre-visit directions. Organize appointment schedules based on doctor availability, patient requirements, and clinic operations. Accurately input and modify patient details and insurance information. Adhere to HIPAA and all relevant federal and state laws. Work with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient care and accurate scheduling. Respond to patient inquiries and escalate problems to the right department. Conduct daily appointment checks to confirm accuracy and resolve any differences.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or its equivalent is needed. 2. Experience of 1–2 years in medical scheduling or front office healthcare setting is desirable. 3. Knowledge of medical language, EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks), and insurance verification procedures is advantageous.
