Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and design Heat Rejection and HVAC systems specifically for data centers. This role involves selecting appropriate air/water side cooling systems and conducting internal CFD simulations to optimize airflow distribution. Additionally, the engineer will perform external CFD on buildings, design HVAC systems with redundancy, calculate heat loads, implement energy-efficient strategies, and ensure optimal air quality. Collaboration with electrical and other mechanical engineers is essential for seamless system integration.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency. 2. Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation. 3. P. E. registration is required. 4. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. 5. Preference for candidates with a master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management. 6. Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology as per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002. 7. Professional certifications related to HVAC engineering, such as CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation.
