Job Description

Join Whatnot as a Manager, Data Science, and lead a team focused on solving critical marketplace challenges. Your team will tackle problems related to growth, discovery, incentives, ads, ranking, and maintaining a healthy ecosystem. You'll establish robust measurement systems, including KPI frameworks and dashboards, to monitor performance. Enhance experimentation through improved design and analysis. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Trust & Safety teams. Drive analytical strategy for product investments, providing insights into performance and profitability. Focus on improving data use through scalable frameworks and AI-enabled tools to improve speed and decision-making. Manage and develop a high-performing team of data scientists.

Qualifications

1. 7+ years in data science, product analytics, experimentation, or a related quantitative field. 2. 2+ years managing or tech-leading high-performing data science teams. 3. Strong foundation in analytics, experimentation, causal reasoning, and statistical methodology. 4. Experience supporting consumer product, growth, or marketplace teams. 5. Track record of building measurement systems. 6. Strong product and business judgment. 7. Ability to operate in ambiguity. 8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. 9. Track record of coaching individual contributors. 10. Enthusiasm for modern data tooling and AI workflows.
