Job Description

As a Learning Designer, you will: - Serve as the learning design specialist, partnering with the Manager, Academic Design to pinpoint and elaborate on content needs. - Team up with Portfolio Managers to analyze past product performance data, understand user behavior, and offer insights. - Foster innovation and excellence by seeking avenues to enhance the learning experience through superior instructional design. - Employ standardized templates and workflows to guide products from initial concept to completion, ensuring educational suitability. - Create and update essential documentation, such as Course Objective Hierarchy. - Collaborate effectively with colleagues, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills in problem-solving, compromise, and relationship building. - Communicate clearly and persuasively through both verbal and written channels, tailoring your approach to your audience and documenting your processes. - Stay abreast of the latest pedagogical research and high-stakes test requirements to shape product design and educate teams. - Juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, global, remote work environment. - Uphold Cengage’s commitment to quality learning in all products, solutions, and activities, embracing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Learning Designer, you'll need: 1. An educational degree or professional certification in instructional design or learning design. 2. At least 5 years of experience creating ELL or ESL educational materials as an editor. 3. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and file-sharing tools. Preferred Qualifications: - A Master’s degree in education or linguistics. - Teaching experience in ELL or ESL. - Knowledge of international curriculum approaches and education initiatives.
