Lead Field Engineer – Automated Nuclear NDE
Job Description
Join our team as a Lead Field Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of nuclear inspection projects. This position involves providing essential support for GEH project planning and execution, as well as offering technical leadership and work coordination to a team. You will engage with customers, oversee contractors, and prepare automated tooling for inspections at nuclear power plants. A key aspect of this role includes evaluating inspection performance, documenting issues, and actively contributing to improvements in tooling and procedures. You'll also be involved in the development of innovative NDE techniques and support various business activities within our Commercial Operations and Planning sectors. Upholding GEH's high standards for integrity, safety, and quality is paramount in all duties and assignments.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited University. 2. Alternatively, a high school diploma coupled with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Non-Destructive Evaluation/Inspections within the Nuclear Industry. 3. Willingness and capability to travel up to 75% both domestically and internationally to various plant sites; remote work is possible from a US-based location when not traveling. 4. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. 5. Ability to ascend 10 flights of stairs multiple times each day. 6. Successful completion of a respirator fit test and physical examination is required. 7. Must meet Fitness for Duty requirements and pass site security protocols to gain unescorted access. 8. Ability to maintain composure and perform effectively under high-pressure conditions. 9. Prepared to work in radiation-controlled and potentially radioactively contaminated zones. 10. Flexibility to work extended hours (up to 12 hours/day) and 7 days/week as needed for project completion.
