Lead Counsel – Commercial

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Counsel to provide legal support to our Sales teams, focusing on privacy, commercial, and legal issues. You will review and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work. The role involves collaborating with various business teams on legal processes and partnering with Sales stakeholders, particularly in DACH, to understand business objectives and drive improvements. You will also collaborate with other legal and compliance teams to accelerate growth with a customer-centric approach.

Qualifications

1. Qualified to practice law in Germany and fluent in German. 2. Minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience. 3. Significant experience reviewing commercial contracts and independent negotiation in DACH (Enterprise SaaS experience a plus). 4. Excellent legal drafting skills. 5. Strong foundation in data protection and EU privacy law. 6. Enthusiastic about partnering cross-functionally to understand strategic goals and provide informed recommendations. 7. Able to make decisions and explain the rationale to teams. 8. Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and transparent environment. 9. Integrate technology and AI in daily practice. 10. Appreciate the customer perspective and 'solve for the customer' mentality. 11. Develop strong, trust-based relationships with team members. 12. Strong communication skills via internal wiki, Slack, and Zoom. 13. Self-driven and solution-oriented. 14. Passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code.
