Junior System Engineer – Private Cloud, Datacenter

Job Description

Join the project and operations team to build and run a highly available and secure Private Cloud. Support the establishment of operations as part of a strategic large-scale project. Operate, maintain, and develop the VMware infrastructure (vSphere / vCenter). Administer Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2019/2022) and MECM/SCCM. Participate in network operations (including MPLS, BGP, Segment Routing, IPsec VPNs, IPv6, Multicast). Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks. Work closely with internal specialist teams and project partners.

Qualifications

1. Completed vocational training as an ICT Specialist (Informatiker:in EFZ). 2. Strong interest in and motivation to work on complex and security-critical IT topics. 3. Good knowledge of VMware (vSphere / vCenter). 4. Practical experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and MECM/SCCM. 5. Solid networking expertise (MPLS, BGP, Segment Routing, IPsec VPNs, IPv6, Multicast). 6. Experience with Cisco IOS XE and IOS XR. 7. Advantageous: initial exposure to CyberArk, RHEL 8/9 or Red Hat OpenShift; basic knowledge of MS Active Directory, MS PKI and Satellite; experience with storage systems (e.g., NetApp MetroCluster); knowledge or practical experience in system hardening. 8. Enjoyment and confidence in producing technical documentation. 9. Business-fluent German and English. 10. Clean criminal record and residency in Switzerland for at least the last 5 years.
