Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Japanese Translator to refine English to Japanese translations for our applicant-facing landing pages and admissions forms. This role involves proofreading copy, correcting grammar and tone, and flagging any source-string issues. You will track edits and comments in our localization workflow and deliver polished copy that feels natural and not just translated. Your tasks include: - Reviewing and refining English→Japanese translations for applicant-facing landing pages and admissions forms. - Proofreading copy to correct grammar and adjust tone. - Identifying and flagging source-string issues. - Tracking edits and comments within the localization workflow. - Delivering polished, native-sounding copy.

Qualifications

We need a Japanese Translator with: 1. Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and professional proficiency in English. 2. Proven experience in translation, localization, or proofreading (English → Japanese). 3. A strong understanding of grammar, tone, and cultural nuance in Japanese. 4. Experience working with style guides and glossaries. 5. Experience with localization tools (e.g., Smartling, Lokalise, Phrase, etc.). 6. Familiarity with education, workforce development, or technical content. 7. Ability to manage feedback and revisions in a structured workflow. 8. Exceptional attention to detail. 9. Clear and concise written communication skills. 10. Strong organizational and time management skills. 11. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. 12. A collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams.
