Insurance Verification Specialist
Job Description
Aegis Therapies is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections for our residents. Key responsibilities include: * Evaluating, processing, and maintaining resident admission information. * Maintaining communication with facility therapy leadership and clinicians. * Gathering information for pre-authorization. * Completing tasks within assigned time frames. * Reviewing admission documents for completeness and accuracy. * Obtaining missing information from facility leadership and patient representatives. * Maintaining organized admission/financial files. * Establishing patient master files in the billing system. * Reviewing payer status changes and communicating them to Billing Specialists. * Updating financial changes in the resident billing system. * Handling insurance benefit verification and tracking authorizations. * Notifying patient representatives of deductibles and coinsurance due. * Contacting primary care physicians for pre-authorization if needed. * Following up with insurance companies regularly. * Providing guidance and training to other employees as needed.
Qualifications
1. High School degree or equivalent. 2. Some College or business school preferred. 3. 3-4 years experience in HealthCare admissions. 4. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
