Job Description

Imagine Worldwide is seeking an ICT Support Specialist to enhance digital learning initiatives across Africa. This role involves providing both remote and on-site technical assistance for network issues in country offices and project schools. Key responsibilities include monitoring ICT infrastructure, coordinating with ISPs, and implementing network changes. The specialist will also deliver helpdesk support to staff, manage IT assets, and conduct training sessions on IT tools and security practices. System updates and security monitoring are crucial to ensure data integrity. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential for managing software licenses and hardware assets, contributing to the effective integration of technology in education.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 2. Minimum 5 years of IT support or system administration experience, preferably in a non-profit in Africa. 3. Hands-on experience managing network equipment (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Access Points) and TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs. 4. Proficiency in administering cloud productivity suites like Google Workspace. 5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to explain technical info to non-technical users. 6. Experience in developing and delivering end-user training. 7. Relevant IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Google/Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator). 8. Experience with satellite and last mile connectivity in remote African settings. 9. Knowledge of APN setup and industrial 4G/5G router configuration. 10. Working knowledge of IT security and data privacy regulations. 11. Fluency in a second relevant language (e.g., French, Swahili) is a plus. 12. Experience with IT documentation and ticketing systems.
