Head of Development and Solutions – Shopify Specialist

Job Description

Lead the Shopify technical vision for our agency, defining architecture, standards, and practices. Stay updated on Shopify's evolving landscape, including APIs and trends, to drive improvements for our team and clients. Act as the go-to expert on complex Shopify challenges, from custom themes to advanced API integrations. Partner with client services to assess project feasibility and contribute to proposals. Design technical architectures, lead replatforming projects, and oversee data migration with precision. Ensure scalability, security, and top-notch quality in all projects. Mentor the development team, foster collaboration, and innovate using emerging technologies to enhance Shopify capabilities.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Shopify, including Shopify Plus, Liquid templating, and API integrations. 2. Proven experience leading large-scale e-commerce replatforming projects from platforms like Magento and Salesforce to Shopify. 3. Strong understanding of frontend and backend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and REST/GraphQL APIs. 4. Experience with Shopify's ecosystem: custom apps, Shopify Functions, Hydrogen/Oxygen (headless), and third-party integrations. 5. Solid grasp of data structure and migration, minimizing data loss and ensuring workflow integrity. 6. Familiarity with project management and Agile methodologies. 7. Excellent communication skills to engage with clients and collaborate across departments. 8. Strategic thinking to align technical decisions with business objectives. 9.
