Job Description

The Grants & Compliance Manager will oversee grants and compliance activities for the Thabat World Bank-funded project, ensuring adherence to World Bank regulations, donor requirements, and organizational policies. Responsibilities include establishing a robust reporting system to monitor donor deliverables and deadlines, proactively monitoring grant processes across multiple states, implementing rigorous compliance systems, and providing technical guidance to hub and state-level teams. This role also involves overseeing sub-granting processes in collaboration with the Ethics & Compliance Manager, ensuring due diligence and documentation align with global compliance standards.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). 2. Must demonstrate experience working with World Bank-funded projects, including Client Connect, Financial Reporting, STEP, and Bank’s Audit requirements. 3. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in grants management, compliance, and donor reporting within large-scale, donor-funded projects. Experience in managing World Bank projects is required. 4. Proven expertise in sub-grant management, including RFAs, due diligence assessments, agreement development, and compliance monitoring. 5. Experience coordinating donor audits and managing compliance documentation. 6. Strong track record of providing technical assistance and capacity building to multi-level project teams and local partners. 7. Experience working in multi-state or fragile/conflict contexts is highly desirable. 8. In-depth knowledge of World Bank regulations, donor compliance frameworks, and financial reporting standards. 9. High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with grant management systems; experience with World Bank reporting platforms (e.g., STEP, Client Connection) is an asset. 10. Fluency in English required. 11. Must be willing and able to travel up to 5%.
