Global Transportation Operations Specialist – 2nd Shift
Job Description
As a Global Transportation Operations Specialist, you will: - Execute Clear to Build and Clear to Launch processes and Standard Work to transport, track, and ensure parts are delivered across the global supply chain. - Identify and address international and domestic delivery issues, acting as the transportation escalation point and engaging stakeholders to resolve delivery risks. - Develop and implement custom logistics solutions to meet expedited transportation needs. - Manage customs requirements for international shipments, ensuring compliance with global regulations. - Lead cross-functional projects to optimize internal processes for global supply chain fulfillment. - Build relationships across the business to gain visibility into plans requiring logistics strategy. - Utilize supplier metrics to improve processes and reduce shipment processing cycle time. - Support improvements in global transportation finances and on-time delivery performance. - Use global transportation digital tools to prepare operational and financial performance data for operations teams. - Contribute to GE Aerospace’s transportation quality program and manage long-term process improvements with suppliers. - Plan and implement changes in operating practices to reduce overall operating expenses while maintaining high service levels.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess: 1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of relevant logistics experience). 2. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on logistics experience. 3. Strong logistics operational experience including international and U.S. domestic transportation. 4. Deep understanding of global customs requirements including documentation, classification, and clearance processes for international shipments. 5. Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective & preventive action (RCCA / CAPA). 6. Advanced MS Excel skills. 7. A strong customer-centric service approach while balancing policy, procedures, and transportation objectives. 8. Proven ability to maintain schedules and meet deliverables in a fast-paced environment. 9. Experience managing in a metrics-driven environment.
