Full Stack Software Engineer – Platform

Job Description

As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Push Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining system health, modernizing legacy code, and expanding our back-end services and APIs. Key responsibilities include: - Utilizing monitoring data to identify and resolve system issues. - Modernizing existing code to align with current standards. - Contributing to the development and scaling of back-end services and APIs. - Managing infrastructure maintenance and scaling, including infrastructure-as-code. - Collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement innovative solutions for workflow bottlenecks. - Writing, testing, and reviewing high-quality, maintainable code.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess: 1. 5+ years of professional experience in building web applications. 2. High proficiency in at least one of the following languages: PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, C/C++, or C#. 3. Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL. 4. Solid grasp of computer science concepts, including data structures, design patterns, and algorithms. 5. Commitment to writing testable and maintainable code. 6. Proven experience in building and maintaining highly scalable products. 7. A curious and innovative mindset with a passion for elegant problem-solving. Bonus points for: - PHP experience using Laravel or similar MVC frameworks. - AWS RDS/EC2 experience. - Familiarity with Packer/Ansible. - Javascript experience: ES6, Webpack, Angular, React JS, React Native. - Knowledge of payroll in Canada and/or the USA. - Experience working on internal tools involving cross-functional teams. - Experience in DevOps or Platform teams, integrating various technologies, services, APIs, and languages. - A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
