Job Description
We're seeking a dedicated Graphic Design Faculty member to enhance our academic team. This role involves: • Instructing undergraduate courses in Illustration and Printmaking, providing hands-on studio experience and theoretical knowledge. • Overseeing senior capstone projects, offering guidance in refining professional portfolios to meet industry standards. • Implementing studio critique sessions and structured assessment methods to foster student growth. • Engaging in ongoing research and creative projects within illustration, printmaking, and related fields. • Showcasing creative work through exhibitions, juried shows, and collaborative projects. • Contributing to the university community through active participation in departmental and university committees. • Providing mentorship and academic advice to students, nurturing their academic and career paths.
Qualifications
To be considered for this faculty position, candidates should possess: 1. A PhD in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, OR an MFA in Graphic Design, Illustration, or Printmaking. 2. A minimum of five years of university-level teaching experience in studio-based instruction in illustration and/or printmaking. 3. An outstanding portfolio of professional and/or research-based work in illustration and printmaking. 4. Proficiency in both traditional printmaking techniques and digital design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud. 5. A record of peer-reviewed publications, exhibitions, or recognized professional accomplishments. 6. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English. 7. Experience in effectively engaging in multicultural academic settings.
