Financial Clearance Representative
Job Description
Engage in comprehensive patient service by completing scheduling and registration tasks during a single call. Provide timely scheduling assistance, delivering crucial appointment details such as test preparation, directions, and order management. Handle financial clearance, which includes verifying patient demographics, insurance details, and securing payments for financial responsibilities, as well as performing collection efforts. Manage orders by ensuring completeness and matching scheduled procedures, including indexing and exporting physicians' orders to the correct account number. Collect and verify essential patient demographic and financial data, determining financial responsibility and securing pre-payment for services, while also managing collection processes. Create complete pre-registration accounts for upcoming inpatient or surgical admissions, fulfilling all pre-certification requirements by obtaining necessary authorizations from insurers and healthcare facilities. Perform additional duties as required to meet departmental needs.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or GED required. 2. Preferred: Two plus years of college (or two years in a professional, customer service-driven environment) or completion of a related medical certification program. 3. Preferred: Telephone/call center experience. 4. Preferred: Pre-registration and/or scheduling experience. 5. Preferred: 2-3 years of customer service experience.
