Job Description
Join PerkinElmer as a Field Service Engineer and play a vital role in ensuring our clients receive top-tier support. This position involves performing equipment installations, conducting maintenance, performing validations, and completing repairs while adhering to PerkinElmer’s stringent service standards and key performance indicators. Engage directly with our customers to gain a deep understanding of their analytical processes, customizing service offerings to meet their specific needs, including providing training, support, and necessary upgrades. Focus on enhancing account profitability by delivering efficient service, identifying potential revenue streams through billable work, promoting consumables, and generating service leads. Efficiently manage assigned assets, including tools, test equipment, telecommunication devices, and service parts inventory. Proactively contribute to enhancing PerkinElmer’s product quality by identifying and reporting opportunities for improvement using the quality notification process. Participate in advanced certification programs through company-sponsored training and development. Complete all required administrative tasks, including accurate time reporting and assigned training modules. Maintain the highest standards of training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental protocols, and operational aspects relevant to the daily working environment.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, with 3 years of experience repairing laboratory equipment; OR 2. Associate Degree in a similar field plus 5 years of relevant experience; OR 3. High School Diploma with 7+ years of direct experience in laboratory equipment repair. 4. Extensive knowledge of analytical equipment, lab environments, and instrument control software. 5. Vendor certification for relevant laboratory equipment. 6. Understanding of lab safety practices as defined by the company and customer site safety protocols. 7. Ability to travel by air, vehicle, or other transportation means as required, up to 50% of the time depending on territory and customer needs.
