Field Service Engineer 2
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer at Dell Technologies, your role involves collaborating with peers, applying technical expertise, diagnosis tools, and analytical practices to resolve customer issues. You will triage issues with direction from Dell support and execute the plan of action from Dell Domain Engineer/L3, communicating via Teams, Email, and Phone. Responsibilities include documenting POA results, logs, and service reports with parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced to Dell via case email, reseating parts, swapping or replacing parts, and upgrading firmware as needed. Server testing and validation, including running diagnostics, capturing & uploading logs, are also essential.
Qualifications
1. 5+ years of professional experience, or an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and education. 2. Experience delivering technical Field Services supporting hardware and software at client sites. 3. Experience in a customer-facing role, including reporting and presenting to all levels of the organization. 4. Experience working in locations with large client deployments and experience with networking and Fiber. 5. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs waist high to replace components on server stacks. 6. Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist Level certification (CPSD, Hyper Converged, Server (PowerEdge)). 7. Industry certifications: CompTIA (Tech+, A+, Security+, Network+, etc.) and Networking certifications (CCNA or equivalent).
