Environmental Technician, Engineering Technician
Job Description
Join our team as an Environmental Technician! This role involves compiling construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data and performing diverse multi-media sampling. You'll oversee environmental and remediation construction projects, providing field and office support to geologists and engineers. Key tasks include working on site-specific project tasks, monitoring contractor activities to ensure compliance, and preparing detailed field reports. Effective communication and adherence to health and safety policies are essential for this role.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience or an associate degree. 2. Technical experience in construction services, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering disciplines (preferred). 3. Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously (preferred). 4. Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, including survey and topographical drawings (preferred). 5. Experience with the operation of industry typical monitoring and data collection equipment (preferred). 6. Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air (preferred). 7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs (required). 8. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (required). 9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, and strong work ethic (required). 10. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls (required). 11. Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (required). 12. Regular field work and overnight travel (required). 13. Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required). 14. Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel (required).
