Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Usage team. This role involves managing a distributed team of engineers, focusing on performance management, career development, and providing consistent feedback. Responsibilities include collaborating with product management to define the team's roadmap and strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer impact. You will guide projects through their lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes in areas like billing, cost management, and reconciliation systems. As a project manager, you will facilitate collaboration across various teams to remove obstacles and ensure coordinated service delivery. You will also foster a security-first team culture, encouraging AI-assisted development practices to improve workflows and reduce toil. Contribute to hiring efforts to build a diverse and skilled engineering team.
Qualifications
1. Minimum 2 years of experience managing software engineering teams. 2. At least 3 years of prior experience as an Individual Contributor (IC) in a related engineering role. 3. Strong software engineering background, ideally with experience in backend systems (like Go), enabling effective participation in technical design discussions. 4. Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability. 5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, align stakeholders, and clearly communicate risks and timelines. 6. Comfortable working with autonomous engineering teams. 7. Customer-focused, basing technical decisions on real-world user and business impact. 8. Comfortable with AI-assisted tooling and integrating AI-powered tools into team workflows.
