Job Description

Assume the role of Engineering Manager to lead and develop a distributed team of engineers. Engage in routine one-on-one sessions, deliver consistent feedback, and provide support for individual performance and career advancement. Collaborate with product management and engineering leadership to define the Usage squad's roadmap, strategy, and OKRs, ensuring they are in line with the company's overarching goals and customer impact. Supervise the team throughout the project lifecycle, from initial technical design and scoping to delivery and post-launch iteration, ensuring top-notch quality and timely outcomes within the Usage domain, which includes billing engine, cost management and billing app, and reconciliation systems. Function as a project manager, facilitating collaboration across Product, DealOps, GTM, Pricing and Monetization, Support, and related AppCore squads to eliminate obstacles and ensure coordinated delivery across service boundaries. Promote a culture of high-trust, security-first within the team, encouraging thoughtful AI-assisted development practices to enhance engineering workflows and minimize toil. Assist in hiring and talent acquisition, partnering with People Ops to attract and retain a diverse team of engineers.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing software engineering teams. 2. Prior experience as an Individual Contributor (IC) in a related engineering role for at least 3 years. 3. A strong software engineering background, preferably with experience in backend systems (like Go), capable of engaging in technical design discussions and guiding the team toward sound decisions. 4. Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability. 5. Proven ability to manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects, align stakeholders with competing priorities, and effectively communicate risks and timelines. 6. Comfortable working with engineering teams that possess a strong sense of autonomy in their decision-making. 7. Customer-focused, consistently basing technical decisions on real-world user and business impact. 8. Familiarity with AI-assisted tooling and a proactive approach to integrating AI-powered tools into the team's workflow.
