Engineering Manager – Infrastructure/SRE

Job Description

Lead and nurture a high-performing team of Site Reliability Engineers responsible for our hybrid cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS with an on-premise extension in Hetzner. Design, document, and guide the implementation of reliable and secure infrastructure solutions, adhering to industry best practices. Oversee technical analysis, cost estimation and optimization, platform and system design, architectural compliance, resource planning, and delivery milestones. Engage in hands-on technical work alongside the team to maintain a deep understanding of the infrastructure, and lead incident response during critical issues. Define team goals and strategy, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization. Manage and coordinate the on-call rotation, including escalation processes, across infrastructure and software engineering teams. Champion engineering best practices and drive continuous improvement in production environment quality and reliability.

Qualifications

1. 10+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure and related services. 2. Strong technical background in AWS, IaC (Terraform), Kubernetes, and monitoring/observability tooling. 3. Proven leadership or management experience with strong interpersonal and people management skills. 4. Experience setting strategic vision and owning complex technical initiatives from conception to delivery. 5. A disciplined approach to maintaining and enforcing engineering best practices. 6. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business units. 7. Detail-oriented and self-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities of varying complexity. 8. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. 9. Comfortable working in a fully remote environment. 10. Be physically located within Europe.
