Engineer I, Global Trade – Technician

Job Description

The Engineer I, Global Trade role involves various responsibilities related to export control and compliance. Key duties include: 1. Assembling technical data packages and determining export control jurisdiction and classification for technical data, commodities, and software. 2. Analyzing and interpreting requirements for technical data determinations. 3. Processing export/import documentation for international shipments and reviewing for classification issues. 4. Classifying commodities using HTS and Census Schedule B Export Codes daily. 5. Maintaining and updating the product master database with HTS and export classifications. 6. Keeping proficient with US and International Export and Import Regulations. 7. Understanding classification On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics. 8. Reviewing red flags or watch list screening hits for escalation. 9. Assisting with internal compliance audits and investigations related to export controls. Limited travel, up to 10%, may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Engineer I, Global Trade position, candidates should possess the following: 1. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Sciences. 2. Strong communication and critical thinking skills. 3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to specific timetables. 4. Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access). 5. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. 6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
