Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be involved in: 1. Analyzing and migrating pipelines and notebooks (Spark/Databricks). 2. Refactoring or rewriting processes for SQL / Dataform and Dataflow. 3. Creating transformations in BigQuery + Dataform. 4. Constructing layers: Silver (Trusted) and Gold. 5. Ensuring quality, deduplication, and standardization. 6. Implementing ingestion with Dataflow (Apache Beam) for events (Kafka/Event Hubs) and Datastream (CDC). 7. Working with data persistence in the Raw layer using Iceberg tables managed by BigLake. 8. Provisioning resources with Terraform (IaC). 9. Managing pipelines with CI/CD (GitHub Actions). 10. Following the Ingestion Factory model and repositories by domain. 11. Implementing tests in Dataform. 12. Ensuring cataloging and lineage (Dataplex) and secure sharing (Analytics Hub).

Qualifications

1. Advanced SQL skills (preferably BigQuery). 2. Experience with GCP: BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow). 3. Proficiency in Python + Apache Spark. 4. Knowledge of Data Lakehouse concepts, data modeling, partitioning, and formats (Parquet, Avro, Iceberg). 5. Experience with Git and CI/CD. Nice to have: Dataform or DBT, experience with Databricks, Terraform (IaC), streaming and event handling (Kafka / Event Hubs), and governance and security practices (Dataplex, IAM, VPC Service Controls).
