Job Description

Engage as an Energy Performance Consultant, supporting energy efficiency initiatives in new commercial buildings. Key responsibilities include: - Cultivating and sustaining relationships with architects, engineers, and real estate entities. - Managing a project pipeline from inception to completion. - Contributing to the design and refinement of utility programs for new construction. - Conducting thorough building audits and identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability. - Constructing and assessing energy efficiency models using industry-standard software. - Performing on-site and virtual verification of building performance post-commissioning. - Supporting business development by providing expertise on new construction projects. - Carrying out additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

To excel as an Energy Performance Consultant, you will need: 1. A degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering. 2. At least 2 years of experience in energy efficiency building practices. 3. A strong grasp of building systems, especially lighting and HVAC, and sustainability practices. 4. In-depth knowledge of state and energy codes for commercial and multi-family new construction. 5. Proficiency in interpreting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction drawings. 6. Competence in using building simulation software such as REM/Rate, NEO, eQUEST, EnergyPro, and Trane Trace. 7. Familiarity with Net Zero Strategies and Energy Use Intensity Metrics. 8. Understanding of Grid-Interactive Efficient Building (GEB) capabilities. 9. Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. 10. Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems (a plus). 11. Willingness to travel locally and domestically up to 20% of the time. 12. A solid foundation in building science, systems, and markets. 13. A passion for sustainability and environmental impact.
