Energy Account Manager

Job Description

As an Energy Account Manager, your primary focus will be to provide program-level support to clients, customers, and contractors, driving energy efficiency initiatives. You'll play a crucial role in influencing customers towards energy-efficient practices through strategic sales planning and proactive project management. Responsibilities include: - Serving as a trusted advisor and communications liaison to external teams and internal teams. - Building and maintaining client and customer trust to implement energy-saving recommendations. - Developing a strategic sales plan to maximize energy savings in your service area. - Identifying project opportunities and delivering business and technical services to customers. - Tracking interactions and forecasted projects in a CRM system. - Managing projects and taking action to close them effectively. - Identifying energy-saving projects through discussions and site visits. - Communicating project value to influence customer decision-making. - Assisting customers in prioritizing energy-saving opportunities. - Eliminating barriers to project implementation. - Performing other assigned duties.

Qualifications

To thrive as an Energy Account Manager, you should have: 1. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. 2. 4+ years of work experience in application engineering, technical sales, or a similar outreach position. 3. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities, including HVAC, lighting, motors, compressed air, and refrigeration. 4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas. 5. Proficiency in developing customer relationships and using Microsoft Office 365. 6. The ability to work remotely and manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets. 7. Willingness to travel locally within Iowa up to 50% of the time. 8. An interest in sustainability and a passion for making an environmental impact. 9. Must be located in Central and Eastern Iowa, or Quad Cities areas or relocating.
