Director of Site Reliability – Security

Job Description

Lead the organization through its first SOC 2 Type II audit, including readiness assessment, gap identification, remediation planning, and auditor coordination. Define and maintain SOC 2 policies and controls across Trust Services Criteria. Build continuous compliance monitoring into engineering workflows. Define and execute a strategic vision for site reliability and security. Establish SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for critical services and drive accountability. Own the incident management lifecycle, including on-call rotations and post-incident reviews. Architect and oversee cloud infrastructure for high availability and scalability. Enhance Infrastructure as Code pipelines with security scanning and policy guardrails. Evaluate monitoring and security tooling to improve detection and prevention. Establish security policies and access controls. Collaborate with teams to balance reliability and security investments.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience leading an organization through a SOC 2 Type II audit. 2. Deep expertise in Azure, including networking, identity (Entra ID), and security services. 3. Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. 4. Proven track record designing and operating highly available, distributed systems. 5. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices. 6. Strong understanding of application and network security principles. 7. Experience implementing and managing observability stacks (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 9. Experience with incident management platforms and processes. 10. Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor.
