Director of Finance

Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee our financial systems. The role involves fiscal management and aligning financial policy with organizational values. You'll ensure compliance with GAAP and 501(c)(3) requirements, maintain financial stability and liquidity, and manage both cash flow and investment portfolios. Working with the Vice President of Finance & Administration, you will solve complex problems, manage resources, and remove barriers to enable staff and departments to achieve organizational goals. You will also lead, supervise, and coach a small team of four additional staff to ensure accurate, timely, and values-aligned financial operations.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred. 2. Must have experience managing investment portfolios, including performance monitoring and risk assessment. 3. Ten (10) years of relevant accounting and financial management experience, preferably in nonprofit and/or philanthropic settings. 4. Five (5) years of supervisory experience. 5. Experience with cloud-based accounting systems; Sage Intacct and Bill.com strongly preferred. 6. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. 7. Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Zoom, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana. 8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, balance strategic and tactical responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.
