Job Description

Mercy For Animals is seeking a Director of Leadership Giving to cultivate relationships with mid-level donors. This role involves developing and executing individualized strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving. Responsibilities include: 1. Managing a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects, using structured moves management. 2. Developing and executing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies with annual plans. 3. Assessing donor capacity and affinity to identify opportunities for increased investment. 4. Meeting or exceeding goals for donor outreach, revenue, and pipeline progression. 5. Conducting virtual and in-person meetings to build relationships and present giving opportunities. 6. Communicating organizational priorities in a donor-centric way. 7. Drafting personalized donor communications, including emails and proposals. 8. Serving as a primary relationship manager for donors within the Compassion Collective. 9. Partnering with donor experience and direct response teams. 10. Providing frontline insight on donor sentiment and engagement trends. 11. Identifying and cultivating donors with the capacity to give at higher levels. 12. Developing upgrade strategies to move donors into major gift portfolios. 13. Maintaining accurate records of donor interactions within the CRM. 14. Tracking progress against revenue goals and engagement metrics. 15. Collaborating across philanthropy, donor experience, and digital marketing teams.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should have: 1. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, recruitment, or sales. 2. Demonstrated success managing a donor portfolio and closing gifts in the $1,000–$10,000+ range. 3. A strong understanding of donor lifecycle strategy. 4. Proven ability to assess donor capacity and translate insights into action. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 6. Ability to balance personalized engagement with efficient portfolio management. 7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 8. Comfort using CRM systems and digital tools. 9. Willingness to travel occasionally and work some evenings and weekends. 10. Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy For Animals.
