Director – Field Application Engineering
Job Description
Senior technical point of contact for customers in Taiwan, from engineers to leadership. Lead hardware installation, board integration, and debugging of embedded systems on-site and remotely. Help customers with chip-down design, custom carrier board creation, and integration of embedded Linux. Guide customers using AI models and inference pipelines through the Voyager SDK. Troubleshoot power sequencing, PCIe, signal integrity, thermal, and BSP bring-up issues. Lead pre-sales efforts and gain design wins across OEMs/ODMs, integrators, and end-users. Develop FAE processes, documentation, and infrastructure for Taiwan. Recruit, mentor, and manage APAC FAE engineers as the team expands. Align priorities with business goals; contribute to APAC and global FAE strategy. Relay customer feedback and roadmap suggestions to Product Management and R&D. Cultivate relationships with key accounts, distributors, and channel partners in Taiwan. Work with Sales and BD on product introductions, onboarding, and competitive intelligence.
Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field 2. 10+ years customer-facing FAE or applications engineering in semiconductor, AI, or embedded systems 3. 5+ years leading FAE teams or managing technical customer-facing functions 4. Strong experience with embedded board design, chip-down development, and custom carrier board design 5. Experience with ARM-based SoCs and embedded compute modules 6. Strong understanding of high-speed digital interfaces, signal integrity, power sequencing, and thermal design 7. Experience with embedded Linux, bootloaders, BSPs, and low-level system bring-up 8. Proven ability to debug complex hardware/software integration issues 9. Familiarity with AI accelerators, NPUs, GPUs, or edge AI platforms 10. Commercial mindset; track record driving design wins through full evaluation and adoption cycles 11. Excellent English communication skills; ability to travel within Taiwan and occasionally APAC.
