DevOps Engineer – Storage Backup

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to focus on storage backup solutions within our DevSecOps model. You will be responsible for the stability and security of storage services in a high-security private cloud environment. Your role includes installation, configuration, administration, and performance optimization of storage and backup systems, specifically NetApp storage and Commvault backup technologies. Ensuring robust backup, restore, and archival processes, including thorough testing and continuous optimization, is crucial. You will participate in an ITIL-oriented operations model, handling service requests, incidents, monitoring, and changes. Automating operational tasks using scripting languages like Python and Bash, actively contributing to knowledge building, process optimization, and the adoption of new tools are also key responsibilities. Close collaboration with product owners, Scrum Masters, and other technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

1. Several years of practical experience in storage management and backup solutions. 2. Degree in Computer Science (university degree or EFZ) with several years of professional experience, or equivalent training. 3. Solid knowledge of NetApp technologies (installation, operation, administration, performance tuning). 4. Strong experience with Commvault (data backup, recovery, archiving). 5. Solid understanding of SAN/NAS architectures and protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB and iSCSI. 6. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). 7. Knowledge of cloud storage and hybrid infrastructures. 8. Experience in monitoring, root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex storage environments. 9. Strong interpersonal skills and a results-oriented, independent working style. 10. High self-initiative and enjoyment working with customers and interdisciplinary teams. 11. Very good German language skills, both written and spoken. 12. Clean criminal record and at least the last 5 years' residency in Switzerland.
