Design Phase Manager II
Job Description
Overall project leadership during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial performance, and schedule management. This ensures a seamless transition to construction operations. Lead the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, fostering an integrated team experience. Establish and manage project budget expectations, supervise project schedules, and ensure regulatory approvals are obtained. Align design documents with the project execution plan, manage bid packages, and resolve technical design concerns. Develop the project margin plan and serve as the primary contact with owners, architects, and engineers. Monitor project success factors, foster team communication, and mentor design phase team members for career growth. Promote effective relationships across diverse backgrounds and provide coaching and feedback.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent. 2. Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience. 3. Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. 4. Detail orientation to manage multiple project tasks. 5. Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. 6. Intermediate Microsoft Office and web application skills. 7. Positive attitude and customer service skills. 8. Ability to interpret Mortenson policies. 9. Active listening and effective communication skills. 10. Ability to travel up to 100%. 11.
