Design Engineer

Job Description

Join us as a Design Engineer to revolutionize the look, feel, and functionality of rready's AI-native B2B SaaS platform. You'll be at the forefront of design and frontend engineering, driving user-facing experiences from initial concepts to refined, production-ready interfaces. Instead of just handing off designs, you'll design in code, develop real UI components, and deploy them to production, ensuring intuitive, accessible, and delightful interfaces for our users. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing end-to-end user interfaces, shipping production frontend code, and building scalable UI foundations through reusable components and continuous refinement.

Qualifications

1. User- and experience-driven: You are passionate about creating excellent user experiences with a focus on clarity, usability, accessibility, and performance. 2. End-to-end ownership mindset: Take full responsibility for your work, from initial concepts and interaction design to production-ready frontend code. You actively build, refine, and ship your designs. 3. Design + frontend hybrid: Comfortable designing interfaces and implementing them in code, enjoying the intersection of design and engineering. 4. Frontend-capable: Confidently write and deploy production frontend code, review PRs, troubleshoot UI issues, and improve existing components. 5. Structured & detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring proper spacing, states, edge cases, responsiveness, accessibility, and consistency. 6. Proactive & accountable: Independently drive topics forward, identify UX/UI issues early, and ensure proper resolution. 7. Iteration-first mindset: Embrace experimentation, refinement, and continuous improvement of designs and implementations. 8. Calm in ambiguity: Ability to navigate undefined requirements, creating clarity through sketches, prototypes, and incremental implementation. 9. Tool-savvy & craft-oriented: Proficient with design and frontend tooling, with a passion for clean, maintainable UI code. 10. Strong communicator: Effectively communicate with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers, ensuring alignment through transparent collaboration. 11. Fluent in English (German is a plus).
