Job Description
Join our team as a Design Automation Specialist and play a key role in shaping the future of our projects. You will navigate ambiguity to determine the optimal level of automation, balancing prototyping and hardening strategies. Craft automation solutions that elevate design and delivery outcomes, leveraging visual programming tools like Dynamo/Grasshopper, parametric workflows, and traditional software development techniques. Primarily, you'll be immersed in Autodesk-based environments such as Revit and Civil 3D, with opportunities to explore diverse platforms. Harness AI-assisted development to enhance exploration and implementation, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Collaborate with project teams, discipline leads, and software teams to gather requirements, translate pain points, and deliver long-term supported solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies, providing grounded recommendations for value-added implementations. Build strong relationships with cross-disciplinary groups to identify common needs, share insights, and discover opportunities. Contribute to broad adoption by creating guidance, documentation, and examples that empower others to automate effectively.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in developing automation solutions using visual programming, scripting, and software development. 2. Familiarity with architecture or engineering project environments, including understanding project lifecycles and constraints. 3. Expertise in Autodesk environments, with proficiency in Python and C#, and familiarity with Autodesk add-in development. 4. Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development while ensuring solution quality and reliability. 5. Ability to break down complex workflows and identify automation opportunities. 6. Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. 7. Collaborative team player who shares knowledge and builds trust across disciplines. 8. Proactive attitude towards emerging tools and practices, challenging assumptions for better approaches. 9. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. 10. Minimum of 4 years of experience in design automation, computational design, or software-enabled workflows.
