Data Scientist

Job Description

Seeking a Data Scientist to extract actionable insights from complex data. You will analyze unstructured datasets, employing advanced statistical techniques to inform data-driven decisions. Working with cross-functional teams, you'll tackle complex business challenges by collecting, exploring, and extracting insights from both structured and unstructured data. Your role involves developing and testing hypotheses, communicating findings clearly to project teams and leadership, and identifying and resolving data issues to improve data process efficiency and scalability. You will also assist in evaluating data science tools and vendors.

Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in Data Science preferred. 2. Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics or related STEM field required. 3. Demonstrated experience performing multiple projects (academic or professional) using a programming language like Python and libraries (numpy, sciPy, etc.) is required. 4. Professional experience in a hospital setting with medical informatics, healthcare information technology/finance/revenue cycle data management, or Electronic Health Record (EHR) data management is preferred. 5. Familiarity with the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process, working knowledge of data bases and handling large data sets. 6. Ability to communicate, gather requirements, and engage in storytelling with data. 7. Strong written and verbal communication skills in IT and business environments; ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
