Data Governance Leader
Job Description
Lead comprehensive data governance initiatives, defining scope and delivering outcomes across operating model, stewardship, data quality, metadata, and tooling. Facilitate governance working groups to align business and technology stakeholders, driving decisions on definitions, business rules, and data quality. Execute metadata and data quality processes within analytics workflows and data platform pipelines. Support the selection and adoption of governance and metadata tools, linking recommendations to business outcomes. Partner on access, privacy, and compliance, ensuring governance supports regulations and broader data/AI governance standards. Coach client staff on data stewardship, providing clear training materials. Manage complex data governance engagements, including plans, timelines, and stakeholder communication. Translate governance strategy into concrete plans, creating policies, glossaries, and controls alongside client teams. Ensure quality and readiness of deliverables, coaching client stewards and project team members. Co-own account and governance strategy, connecting the governance roadmap to the client’s data/AI strategy and account growth.
Qualifications
1. 6+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related roles. 2. 2+ years of consulting leadership with external clients. 3. Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and drive alignment on definitions and data quality controls. 4. Familiarity with governance operating models, stewardship practices, and privacy regulations. 5. Strong technical literacy across governance and metadata capabilities, plus AI governance concepts. 6. Adept at making technical and tooling recommendations linked to business outcomes. 7. Proven ability to coach others and drive change. 8. Track record of collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 9. Experience owning full lifecycle delivery of governance workstreams. 10. Comfortable managing complex engagements with strong planning and stakeholder communication. 11. Willingness to travel as required.
