Data Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that empower our clients, business analysts, and data scientists. The role involves interfacing with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources. You will continually refine reporting and processes, while also automating self-service solutions for clients. Responsibilities: - Develop, code, and deploy scripts using Python, the language of data science. - Construct large, intricate datasets to satisfy functional and non-functional needs. - Create high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and proofs of concept, leveraging modern tools to integrate systems and handle complex data workflows. - Ensure data strategies and architectures adhere to regulatory standards. - Collaborate with business executives to align data architecture with business objectives. - Optimize data retrieval, build dashboards and reports, and perform database maintenance. - Work closely with data scientists, ensuring our data infrastructure supports complex data analytics.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 2. 4-7 years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a professional services or consulting setting. 3. Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL). 4. In-depth knowledge of database systems (relational and NoSQL), data modeling, and data warehousing concepts. 5. Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and relevant technologies (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery). 6. Experience with Computer Vision/Intelligent Document Processing. 7. Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes and data integration workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, Informatica, or Talend. 8. Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles. 9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions. 10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with clients and cross-functional teams. 11. Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for learning and staying updated in data engineering. 12. Ability to work with ambiguity and convert client needs into actionable stories and epics. 13. A solid understanding of the SDLC process. 14. Understanding of object-oriented programming. 15. Needs minimal direction. 16. AWS background, AWS Cloud Formation & Data Migration Services (DMS) experience. 17. Solution Engineer mindset.
