Cyber Security Engineer – Information System Security Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to ensure the security of mission-critical information systems supporting DoD programs. This role involves ensuring compliance with RMF, NIST, and Air Force cybersecurity requirements. Responsibilities include driving secure system design, authorization, and continuous monitoring efforts, as well as supporting the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and controls. The engineer will create, maintain, and review information security documentation, implement and monitor security controls, and advise developers on integrating security requirements. Achieving and maintaining Authorization to Operate classified information systems is a key objective, along with coordinating with sponsor and corporate security organizations, overseeing the Continuous Monitoring program, and providing security training and guidance. The role also includes managing multiple RMF packages and conducting RMF processes on various systems, including Hardware, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
Qualifications
1. Ten years of experience required 2. Security+ Certification 3. CISSP Certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire 4. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or comparable academic discipline 5. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with several current security tools 6. Experience preparing and maintaining SSPs and other security related documentation 7. Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies 8. Collaborating in a team environment 9. Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) 10. High expertise in cloud security concepts and the FEDRAMP program 11. Expertise in security incident management and response 12. Familiarity with eMASS automation, OSCAL, or similar compliance automation frameworks 13. Must be committed to developing and adhering to best practices and standard operating procedures 14. Must be a solutions-oriented team player
